Petworth Jazz Project

Monday, May 9, 2011

The Petworth neighborhood of D.C looks to be on the rise with a couple of very cool upcoming community events. The first of which is The Petworth Market Fundraiser held by the Petworth Community Market. In an effort to increase accessibility to the recipients of the program SNAP (Supplementary Nutrition Assistance Program), a fundraiser is being held this Wednesday, May 11th to aide in the purchase of an Electronic Benefits machine and creation of a benefits matching program. There is a suggested $10 donation, but of course you're always encouraged to give what you can. Think of it as an extra happy hour :)

Date: Wednesday May 11th,
Time: 6:30-8:30
Place: Domku Bar and Cafe
Cost: $10 donation

The next event is the Petworth Jazz Project. The first installment will take place this Saturday, May 14th with some very cool friends and twins The Jolley Brothers bringing you some of the best in D.C jazz along with Christie Deshield and DJ to be announced. Nate and Noble Jolley (drummer and pianist respectively) are as musically talented as they are kind, so feel free to check them out this Saturday at 6:45pm. A full list of upcoming Petworth Jazz Project performances can be found here.
