D.C Event: Philadelphia Orchestra at the Kennedy Center

Tuesday, May 17, 2011

Hey guys. This Friday, May 20th, the Philadelphia Orchestra is performing at the Kennedy Center.

As some of you may or may not have heard, the illustrious orchestra is currently undergoing some financial strains, and has even filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Added to that, it recently lost its principal cellist and clarinet player to two other orchestras. A few of  its musicians have recently proposed their raises be postponed in order to help soften the fall.

But more than its current and unfortunate circumstances, this orchestra is one of the most highly regarded in the world, and features some of the finest musicians. A few of the orchestra's future shows may not be as absolute as they once were, so if you enjoy classical music this is definitely a show you want to check out. I'll be there. And it'll give you a nice reason to dress up :)

Date: Friday, May 20th 2011
Place: Kennedy Center
Time: 8pm
