Au Cinéma

Last night, the boyfriend and me went to rock out with a sold out crowd who came to see the French pop group Phoenix perform here in the city. A big shout out and thank you to the bf and his good friend for hooking us up with free tickets!!

But even before the electro-pop shock that is Phoenix bounded onto the stage...and into the crowd...and up on the speakers ( Thomas Mars is such a great crowd pleaser :), we were treated to their fantastic opening band-cum-my new-favorite iPod additions, Two Door Cinema Club. These guys were non-stop with their soaring guitar rifts, poppy key notes, and one of the sickest drummers that side of the Atlantic (the group is from Northern Ireland). Really, their sonic meets pulsating-new wave sound grips you by the ear and forces you to spazz into wild body gyrations. There's even an underlying feeling of redemption and infinite life pursuits when you listen to TDCC. Youth and its effervescence...ah sweet.

Enjoy two of the myriad of videos they've shot for their newest release Tourist History.
